WordPress vs. ClickFunnels: Which Software Builds Better Websites?

WordPress vs. ClickFunnels: Which Software Builds Better Websites?

Both WordPress and ClickFunnels are established well-known software platforms with massive user bases.

Today we are going to compare them in terms of features, pricing, and use cases. We hope that this article will help you decide which platform to use for building your website!

WordPress

What is WordPress?

Two people are discussing in front of a large red question mark with a WordPress logo in the background. One person is gesturing while the other points at the question mark.

WordPress is the most popular content management system in the world that powers at least 43.5% of all websites.

What is WordPress Best for?

We would argue that WordPress’ greatest strength is its blogging functionality.

This shouldn’t be surprising considering that WordPress started out as a blogging platform and then over the years evolved into the universal content management system that it is today.

However, in our opinion, it’s not the best option for blogging if that’s what you are interested in. We’ll provide some alternatives to it at the end of this article.

What are WordPress’s most Notable Features?

There are two versions of WordPress:

WordPress.org is a self-hosted open source content management system that you can download, install on your server and host yourself.

It’s extremely customizable: you can mix and match plugins however you want to create the functionality that you need.

However, if you are not a technical person, then this customizability might feel overwhelming.

WordPress.com is a fully-hosted website builder that offers the same core functionality as the open source version but is less customizable.

You can use either version of WordPress to create a blog, a website or an eCommerce store.

They both offer access to the WordPress ecosystem that has tons of themes and plugins.

The main difference between them is that WordPress.org provides free, open-source software that you can do whatever you want.

Meanwhile, WordPress.com sells a service, which comes with a price tag and various limitations.

So the key factor in deciding which one of them is the right option for you is the amount of control that you want to have over your project.

If you want complete control, then you should go with WordPress.org, but keep in mind that you’ll also need to handle the installation, maintenance, security, etc. yourself.

If you want something that is easy to set up, works right out of the box, and doesn’t require you to deal with technical stuff, then you should go with WordPress.com. You’ll have much less control, though.

How Much Does WordPress Cost?

WordPress.org, the open source version of WordPress, is completely free.

However, if you want to use a premium WordPress theme and various premium plugins, it can get expensive.

Meanwhile, WordPress.com offers five pricing plans. Here’s a quick overview:

  • The Starter plan costs $9/month – It includes the core functionality and access to dozens of themes.
  • The Explorer plan costs $18/month – It includes everything in the Starter plan, plus access to all premium themes.
  • The Creator plan costs $40/month – It includes everything in the Explorer plan, plus it allows you to install themes and plugins and has higher usage limits.
  • The Entrepreneur plan costs $70/month – It includes everything in the Creator plan plus an e-commerce functionality.
  • The Enterprise plan starts at $25,000/year – It offers better infrastructure, security, and customer support.

Check out the WordPress.com pricing page if you want to learn more about what’s included in each plan.

It’s also worth noting that you can get up to 55% off if you choose to pay yearly, up to 63% off if you choose to pay every two years, and up to 69% off if you choose to pay every three years.

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is an all-in-one marketing platform that provides everything you need to launch, manage, and grow your business.

What is ClickFunnels Best for?

ClickFunnels is best for building sales funnels.

When we launched our company in 2014, our software was a funnel builder app that revolutionized the way online marketing was done.

Over the years, we kept expanding its functionality because we wanted our users to have everything they needed to grow their businesses in one place.

However, sales funnels remain at the core of everything that we do!

What are ClickFunnels’ Most Notable Features?

You can use ClickFunnels to create a blog, a website, or an e-commerce store.

More importantly, you can use it to build sales funnels, which is what really matters if you want to grow your business.

In addition to that, our software includes a CRM functionality, an online course functionality, and a membership site functionality.

Finally, there’s also an advanced A/B testing functionality that enables you to optimize your entire sales funnel for conversions!

WordPress vs. ClickFunnels: Which Platform is the Right Choice for You?

Look, we’ll be honest with you:

At this point in time, we wouldn’t recommend WordPress for anything because, in our opinion, it’s a clunky platform that is lagging behind its competitors.

Yes, it’s extremely popular but that seems to be due to the momentum from the past, not because of its current capabilities.

If you want to start a blog then you’d probably be better off going with either Bear or Ghost.

Bear is a privacy-focused, super-fast blogging platform that is easy to use and has a minimalistic, “old Internet” look that can work well for a personal blog if you like that aesthetic.

Meanwhile, Ghost is WordPress’ main competitor in the blogging niche. It’s designed for people who want to create written content in a professional or business capacity and provides everything you need for that.

And if you want to create a website for a hobby project that you don’t intend to monetize, then we would recommend checking out Wix, Squarespace and Weebly.

Finally, if you want to build a business website, launch an ecommerce store or start a paid community, we believe that ClickFunnels is the best option for all of that.

As we explained earlier, sales funnels are at the core of everything we do, which means that our software is designed to help you convert visitors into leads, leads into customers and customers into repeat customers.

Ultimately, we are here to help you grow your business!

Try ClickFunnels Risk-Free!

Let’s be real:

We are biased in favor of our software.

So we understand if you take what we say about it with a grain of salt.

Fortunately, we have a free 14-day trial, so you don’t have to take our word for it.

You can go and see ClickFunnels for yourself without any risk!

So what are you waiting for? 🧐
