So, you’ve decided to go hunting for traffic. You’ve spotted them online, a nice, fat group of them that you’ve never tapped before. They’re perfect! They’re interested in what you’ll have to offer, they’ve never heard of you, and they seem uninformed, begging for someone like you.
Now, if you’ve ever gone hunting, you’ll know that your instinct to dive into the middle of them and start shouting is probably the last thing you should be considering. No, you’ve got to get closer, you’ve got to keep a low profile, and when the time is right, then you strike.
Believe it or not, you’re going to have to prove your worth and that take time. So here’s some advice for you, even if you don’t have your own group on the internet that you’re looking to dive into.
Here’s how you find a group and turn them into warm leads.
Tip #1: Find Online Groups
Okay, when it comes to searching for groups, you have to start looking for where people congregate. The simplest answer to that particular mystery is social media.
On social media, you can find groups regarding anything. This is where you’ll find people that are interested in the product that you’re offering. You’ll find that there are literally thousands or tens of thousands of customers right in front of you, waiting to hear from you.
Join that group! Join every group that has anything to do with your product or service. These are going to be the people you want to start marketing to and to start drawing in. Keep searching for similar groups, those that align with your interest indirectly. They’ll be interested in you and your product or service as well.
This is your hunting ground and you’re going to want to set up camp here.
Tip #2: Engage Long Before Promoting
People online can smell an opportunist and will gladly tear apart anyone who has shown up just looking to sell something. And while you might get a few bites, there’s a better way to get more people and it’s the exact opposite of what people want to hear.
You need to take time and engage with this community. Rather than jumping in and spamming ads. Instead, get to know these people that you’re going to start offering your products and services to. You need to warm them up and that’s done by commenting and speaking with them.
Get friendly with them. The more people recognize you, the more likely they’re going to be interested in what you have to say.
If you engage with them long before you start selling to them, then they’re going be warmed to your presence.
Did you catch that?
Warmed.
Tip #3: Provide Value
If they recognize you and your services that you’ve spoken about long before you ever try to sell them, then they’re going to be warmed to you. But, the best way to warm people up to you is to provide them with value.
That’s right, value.
If you’re a Funnel Hacker, you know that you’re going to need something of value for your prospects and leads. This is the ultimate display of your intent for them. If they know that you care about them and that you can provide them with value, then they’ll be more interested in what you have to offer for them.
Tip #4: Avoid Drama
This may seem like a no brainer, but there are a lot of people that need to hear this particular caveat. You definitely don’t want to start drama in these groups.
Don’t make enemies.
Don’t start fights.
If you do that, you’re alienating portions of your audience and those that you could be selling to in the future. People who are obviously wrong or who are trolls in these groups do not need to be banished by you. You don’t need to run to the defense of anything or cause. All you’re here to do is to start warming people up to who you are.
Sure, you can play hero if someone is getting cornered if you want, but is that alienating yourself in these groups? It’s best to avoid drama. Remember why you’re in these groups and act accordingly.
Tip #5: Operate Within Their Guidelines
Finally, this is a big one, operate within their guidelines. Most groups on Facebook will have a list of rules or guidelines that you’re supposed to follow. Without a doubt, one of them is going to say, no promotion or advertising.
See why you shouldn’t do that in the first place?
The more you interact with people, giving them valuable responses, and finding ways to give them value, then the more open people are going to be when you tell them you have a service or product to help them. It’ll slip into conversation and you won’t have to throw ads up. You’ll find ways just through conversation to help people and to draw customers.
This is the only way you’re going to be able to advertise within these groups and lucky for you, if your service and product is worth it, other people will start to promote you and your service.
That is when your link will start getting shared and spread around, driving traffic to your pages.
