So you built a sales funnel for your business.
Now you need to figure out how to drive traffic to it.
Today we are going to discuss the three best ways to do that…
#1: Social Media Marketing
What is Social Media Marketing?
Social media marketing is the practice of building a social media following and then leveraging it to grow your business.
How to Build a Social Media Following
There are three key activities that you need to focus on if you want to build a social media following:
Publishing High-Quality Content Every Day
We recommend a publishing frequency of one high-quality post per day.
Set aside a few hours every month to batch-create and schedule content for the next month.
Focus on evergreen content as much as possible because you only need to produce it once and then can reuse it indefinitely.
Interacting With People Who Comment Under Your Posts
Set aside time every day to reply to the comments under your posts.
This is important because the primary metric that social media algorithms are optimizing for is engagement so you want to create as much of it as you can.
If someone leaves a comment and you reply to it, you are positively reinforcing that behavior so they will be more likely to leave comments in the future. Ideally, you want to respond to every single comment.
There’s one exception: if someone is being disrespectful to you or other people, don’t engage with them. Block them instead!
Networking With Prominent Influencers in Your Niche
Set aside time each day to read their posts and leave thoughtful comments that contribute to the conversation.
If you regularly comment on and share someone’s content, they will eventually notice you and check out your profile.
And if they see that you are posting high-quality stuff, they might follow you and start occasionally sharing your content with their followers.
This is important because growth on social media comes from other people sharing your content and prominent influencers have a disproportionate impact on it.
Which Platform Should You Focus On?
We recommend focusing on Twitter because it’s a text-driven platform with a massive user base and a great algorithm that helps people discover content that they like.
It’s worth noting that there are plenty of anonymous Twitter users who have managed to build large followings simply by “posting” random hot takes and getting into online arguments.
So it’s probably safe to say that you should be able to build a following as well, especially considering that you have an actual content strategy!
Stay Away from Controversial Topics!
Speaking of hot takes…
It’s true that if you want to stand out on social media, you need to create polarizing content.
If you disagree with some of the ideas that are popular in your niche, criticizing those ideas can help you differentiate yourself from the competition, get engagement, and grow your following.
However, there’s a big difference between doing that and bringing up general controversial topics.
It’s probably best to refrain from commenting on religion, politics, and current events unless doing so makes sense from a business perspective.
Let other people argue about this stuff while you stay focused on making money!
How to Leverage Your Social Media Following to Drive Traffic to Your Sales Funnel
If someone sees your content on social media and likes it, they will probably click on your profile.
If they see more content that they like, they will probably decide to follow you.
And if you continue posting content that they like, they will probably eventually become curious about your free offer.
Consequently, all you need to do to drive traffic from social media to your sales funnel is describe your free offer in your bio and provide a link to its landing page.
You don’t need to promote it directly in your social media posts. In fact, we would advise against it. Let people check it out in their own time.
Case Study: This Entrepreneur Makes Nearly $1,000,000 Per Year With Just 5,800 Followers
Our friend Alex Hormozi shared a story about an entrepreneur who makes nearly $1,000,000 in take-home annual income despite having a small audience.
She’s a registered dietician who helps other registered dieticians bill insurance correctly. Super niche!
Here are some of her metrics:
- Around 5,800 followers on Instagram
- Around 2,900 email subscribers
- Around 10 sales a day at a low-ticket price
- Around 3 sales per week at a high-ticket price
Instagram is her primary customer acquisition channel where she publishes one post and one story every day. 100% of her content is about insurance billing for registered dieticians.
This story perfectly illustrates the old online marketing adage “the riches are in the niches”. Clearly, it still holds true!
You see, if you talk about stuff that everyone can relate to such as fitness, dating, travel, etc. you are going to build a larger following because that type of content has a broader appeal.
Meanwhile, if you focus exclusively on helping your dream customers solve various problems related to your niche, your following is going to be much smaller because that type of content will only appeal to the particular demographic that you are targeting.
However, it will be much easier for you to monetize that smaller following because it will primarily consist of people who might be interested in your product or service!
#2: YouTube Marketing
What is YouTube Marketing?
YouTube marketing is the practice of building a YouTube channel and then leveraging it to grow your business.
How to Build a YouTube Channel
We recommend focusing exclusively on creating videos that help your dream customers solve various problems related to your niche.
Use YouTube’s search function to find video ideas. Simply type in a keyword and look at the suggestions that come up. This is what people are searching for right now.
Target a specific keyword with each video and make sure that the content meets the search intent. Your videos need to provide the information that the viewers are looking for.
We recommend using the “Hook, Story, Offer” copywriting framework for the scripts of your videos:
- Hook – Hook the viewer with an introduction that grabs their attention. Social proof can work really well here: if you begin your video by mentioning a specific result that you either achieved yourself or helped someone else achieve, the viewer will feel inclined to continue watching if they are interested in getting that same result.
- Story – Build trust by telling the viewer a story that resonates with them on an emotional level. Either include the information that they are looking for in the story itself or share it afterward as lessons learned. Note that the story doesn’t have to be elaborate, it can be just a few sentences. What matters is its emotional impact.
- Offer – End your video by encouraging the viewer to check out the links in the description if they want to learn more about what you do.
Use proven formulas for your video titles. Look at the titles of the videos that are popular in your niche or even just on YouTube in general, then pick a title format and figure out how to make it more compelling so that your video would stand out.
Video thumbnails are also extremely important. Ideally, you want to use the same aesthetic for all your thumbnails so that your videos would be immediately recognizable as such.
Just like with social media marketing, the reason why most entrepreneurs who attempt to build a YouTube channel fail is a lack of consistency. You can probably get ahead of the competition by simply publishing one video per week, every week, without fail!
Also, if you want to learn more about building a YouTube channel, we recommend watching this video by Vanessa Lau:
How to Leverage Your YouTube Channel to Drive Traffic to Your Sales Funnel
Add this information to your video descriptions:
- An explanation of what your company does and a link to its website.
- A description of your free offer and a link to its landing page.
Then at the end of each video encourage the viewer to check out the links in the description if they want to learn more about what you do.
Case Study: What Happened When This Popular YouTuber Stopped Publishing Videos for an Entire Year?
Vanessa Lau is a popular YouTuber who took a year off from social media for her mental health.
When she came back in early 2024, she published a video in which she shared how this break affected her YouTube metrics, Instagram metrics, and income.
It’s super interesting because her metrics indicate that a YouTube following has more staying power than an Instagram following. In fact, she gained 20,000+ subscribers during her year off!
Moreover, although she used to make not just long-form videos for YouTube but also short-form videos for Instagram and TikTok, what people really missed was her YouTube content. They would send her DMs saying that!
Finally, despite being away for a year, she still made over $100,000, with YouTube serving as the primary customer acquisition channel for her low-touch products.
All this suggests that building a YouTube channel may be one of the best things that you can do for your business, especially if you want to have the option of taking some time off like Vanessa did!
#3: Paid Advertising
What is Paid Advertising?
In the online marketing context, the term “paid advertising” refers to running ads on social media platforms, search engines, and ad networks.
Which Platforms Should You Advertise On?
Facebook is the most universal one so it’s a good place to start.
You can also use ads to promote your content on the platform you are building your social media following.
Finally, you can use YouTube ads to grow your YouTube channel!
How to Use Paid Advertising to Drive Traffic to Your Sales Funnel
We recommend creating an ad campaign designed to promote your free offer and drive traffic to its landing page.
This will help you build an email list that you can then sell your products and services to.
Entrepreneurs often feel hesitant to spend money on advertising freebies but it’s a much more effective way to acquire customers than driving traffic directly to your sales page!

Great article, thanks for sharing these amazing tips for us. I have got a lot of good information about sales funnels, really it will help me a lot.
#3 is my favorite. I think this method will always play a part in google algorithms and is a very solid long term marketing strategy.
Pinterest Marketing is probably second and definitely overlooked by too many people.
Taking advantage of social media platforms is very necessary in order to bring traffic to the sales funnel and convert prospects into loyal customers. You have explained the use of social media sites in a very well profound manner.
Thank you for the support Daya! Converting prospects into loyal customers is exactly to result we are looking for.
Fantastic tips. I do believe #5 and #6 are the best ones, but all works great. The easiest way to find out what to do is to figure out what traffic source you are good at and enjoy and just go for it.
Hi Fredrik, thank you for being such a supportive member of the community!
Promote a free lead magnet to your social media audience that leads into your sales funnel.
In my opinion, this is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic to your sales funnel. In fact, this is the #1 method I rely on to build my own email list.
Thank you so much for your input David! Keep moving forward!
Actually, these are very helpful articles for my website. Thanks…

Ashish, happy to help. Thanks for commenting
Thanks for the nice information.
Hey Robert, thanks for writing this article, it was really helpful when I wrote my blog, so I gave you a backlink.
I had had a question, do you have any specific criteria you use when picking authority sites? I just started my online blog, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and have a great rest of your day!
Gratefully,
Daniel
